Services

Grain Inspection Inc. Office hours are from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Friday. Inspection hours are from 5:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Friday. If you would like same day inspection please notify us by 9:00 am. For weekend or holiday inspection service, please notify us by 12:00 pm of the previous business day.

Our normal sampling hours are from 6:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. For same day sampling, please notify us by 9:00 am and for weekend or holiday service, please notify us by 12:00 pm of the previous business day.

Overtime hours are from 5:00 pm to 8:00 am Monday through Friday and all day Saturday. Double time will be charged for Sundays and Holidays.

Holidays Include: New Years Day, Martin Luther King Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Years Eve after 2:00 pm, and Christmas Eve after 2:00 pm.

Our regular hourly rates are $20.00 per hour for samplers and technicians and $28.00 per hour for inspectors. Overtime hours will be billed at one and a half times the regular hourly rate and will be assed in ¼ hour increments. Delays not caused by the Agency will be billed at the applicable hourly rate per man hour and will be assessed in ¼ hour increments.

Travel time will also be billed at the applicable rate per man hour plus mileage.

Grain Inspection Inc reserves the right to determine the number of personnel to properly provide the service requested.

A minimum call out time of two hours will be billed at the applicable rate and prorated when possible.

Mileage will be assessed at a rate of less than or equal to the IRS standard mileage rate and will be prorated when possible. Mileage is subject to change when the IRS rate does.

There will be a 1 ½% per month finance charge 30 days from the statement date.

Official Commercial Inspection Services are available and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis from our officially approved fee schedule.

Customer owned scales and Mechanical Samplers intended for official weighing and sampling must be reviewed and approved prior to use. We can help with this process and the applicant will be billed at the applicable hourly rate.

An extended load time fee will be assesed on any on-site train that does not maintain a 5 car per hour average. This fee will be charged at the current rate with a maximum charge of $500 per train.

A per diem charge will be assesed at $8 per person after 8 hours and $16 after 12 hours.

Onsite Inspection Services and Fees

Grain Inspection Inc offers onsite laboratory services including, sampling, sealing, grading, and proteins.

Mechanical Sampling with a grade - $16.50

Probe or Pelican Sampling with a grade - $18.42

Re-inspections on a new sample – same as original charge.

Re-inspection on a file sample - $8.81

Sealing Railcar top with a minimum of 75 cars with a maximum of 15 seals is $3.00 per car, and 16 or more seals is $5.00 per car. These rates apply to plastic seals only. Cable seals will be charged at $2.00 per seal.

We will also do submitted samples onsite. A submitted sample with two or more factors will be $16.95, a sample with one factor will cost $14.53.
